Administrative Changes

As we prepare for the 2026-27 school year, the Board of Trustees has approved the following leadership positions:

Travis Chapman – Director of Assessment 

Travis Chapman

  • Travis Chapman will serve as Director of Assessment, effective July 1, 2026. A long-time school leader, Mr. Chapman has served as Principal of Dacusville Elementary School since 2018, following prior principal and assistant principal roles in both Pickens County and Anderson School District Five. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with assessment systems, accountability measures, and the use of data to support instructional planning and school improvement. As Director of Assessment, Mr. Chapman will oversee districtwide assessment programs, testing administration, reporting, and compliance with state and federal accountability requirements.

Lauren Corn – Executive Director of Secondary Instruction

  • Mrs. Lauren Corn will serve as Executive Director of Secondary Instruction, effective July 1, 2026. Mrs. Corn currently serves as Principal of Pickens High School and will transition into the district-level role at the conclusion of the 2025-26 school year. In her new role, Mrs. Corn will provide leadership and support for secondary instructional programs across the district, working closely with principals, instructional leaders, and district departments to ensure alignment with district goals and state expectations. Mrs. Corn brings extensive experience in secondary education, having served as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal. Since becoming principal of Pickens High School, she has focused on strengthening instructional systems, supporting staff collaboration, and building structures to support student success at the secondary level.

Tish Goode – Director of Elementary Literacy

  • Mrs. Tish Goode has been selected as Director of Elementary Literacy for SDPC. Mrs. Goode has served as the district’s Director of K–5 Instruction during the past year. In this adjusted role, she will continue much of her existing work while placing a more focused emphasis on leading the district’s literacy efforts in the elementary grades. As Director of Elementary Literacy, Mrs. Goode will guide districtwide literacy initiatives, support schools in implementing effective instructional practices, and collaborate with teachers, coaches, and administrators to strengthen early reading and language development.
