We had such an amazing day celebrating and honoring our veterans! We have a video coming of today's Veterans Day program, but here's a sneak peek! Thank you to our brave men and women who have sacrificed so much so we can enjoy the freedoms of this great nation! #dacusvillegrown #veteransdayatDES

We had an amazing night for our first Outdoor Movie Night this year! The Grinch, delicious burgers and hotdogs, candy, chips, popcorn, and lots of great family memories to start the season. What more could you ask for? #dacusvillegrown

Our fourth graders had an awesome day learning at the Duke World of Energy! #dacusvillegrown

We are so proud of these Distinguished Dolphins for being recognized by their teachers for demonstrating at least one of our Positivity Project Character Strengths. We celebrated with a Chick-Fil-A group breakfast (yummy!) Students were nominated for demonstrating strengths such as kindness, perseverance, courage, supporting others when they struggle, cheering others' success, and more. #dacusvillegrown #P2

Today, our 3K class explored the magic of the seasons! 🍁🌳 After learning about how leaves change colors, we went on a fun leaf hunt to find red, yellow, and orange leaves. We turned our discoveries into a beautiful fall tree in the classroom! It’s amazing to see nature and creativity come together! 🍂🍃 #SeasonsOfLearning #LeafHunt #TinyExplorers

Today, we celebrated our joy and commitment to staying drug-free! Here are a few students who enjoyed participating by wearing mismatched or inside-out outfits!

Ms. Erin Schultz is in her 2nd year of teaching and both years have been here at DES! She is a natural-born teacher. To see her in action you would never know that she has only been teaching for just over a year. She has a great rapport with her students. Although she is still in LETRS training(Vol. 2) and working with a new ELA curriculum in year 2 of her career she demonstrates extreme proficiency in phonics instruction and routines. Erin has also stepped up to take on leadership roles like serving on our Guiding Coalition and organizing our Veterans Day program. Being a new teacher in today's world of education is more challenging than ever but she makes it look so easy. We are so glad that Erin chose to be a Dolphin and we hope she continues to be a dolphin for many, many years.

A lot is happening next week here at DES! We thought it would be easier for you to go to one post to discover everything happening. Please see below for all the upcoming events!
