Don't forget to wear red, white, and blue on Monday, September 11!

Are you unsure about when to send your child to school if they have been ill? Here is a way to check.

During arrival and dismissal on Aug 9, construction will need to block a lane at the entrance. There will be one lane to enter the drive, but it will go to three after the curve. Thank you in advance for your patience.

Please plan to attend one of the upcoming volunteer trainings at SME if you would like to chaperone, tutor, help on Field Day, or help out in the classroom. A background check is required for anyone who would be in direct contact with students ($25) and it is good for three years. If you are unable to attend one of the sessions at SME, you can attend at another Pickens County school.
Here are dates when you can attend in coming weeks:
August 8 at 9:00 am
August 10 at 9:00 am
August 18 at 9:00 am
August 25 at 9:00 am
August 31 at 5:15 pm

Just wanted to let the community know that construction at SME will begin June 19 to reconstruct entry way and add new wing. During the next year, the playground and track will be closed to the public. When finished, a new play area and track will be added and the community can use again after school hours. As well, when the new entry is completed in July 2024, it should solve traffic problems on the road during drop off and pick up.
Thank you for your patience as we work to create a better school for our students.

Save the Date!

As we near the end of the school year, your student may find that they have outstanding fees due to lost library books, lost technology items, or after-school care. All of these things can be paid for through My School Bucks. Just visit www.myschoolbucks.com to settle any outstanding charges. Thank you!

All library books are due to the library by May 4. The first class on each grade level to get all items returned wins a doughnut party.
