School District of Pickens County Names Brittney Morgan Principal of Central Academy of the Arts
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the School District of Pickens County Board of Trustees approved the Superintendent’s recommendation to name Mrs. Brittney Morgan as Principal of Central Academy of the Arts.
Mrs. Morgan has served as interim principal since January 2025, providing steady leadership and continuity during a year of transition. Her appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in her leadership and the strong momentum established at Central Academy of the Arts under her direction.
“Mrs. Morgan has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and care for students and staff throughout her time as interim principal,” said Superintendent Dr. Danny Merck. “She understands the unique identity of Central Academy of the Arts and has earned the trust of the school community. We are confident she will continue to lead the school forward.”
Mrs. Morgan brings more than 17 years of experience in education, with prior roles including assistant principal, instructional coach, reading coach, and classroom teacher. Before coming to Central Academy of the Arts, she served as Assistant Principal at Forest Acres Elementary and previously held leadership roles at Crosswell Elementary and McKissick Academy of Science and Technology. During her tenure as interim principal at Central Academy, Mrs. Morgan has focused on instructional leadership, school culture, arts integration, and community engagement, while maintaining daily operations and supporting both students and staff.
She holds a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision and a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Anderson University. Mrs. Morgan has extensive training in literacy leadership, arts integration, MTSS implementation, and school improvement practices.
“It has been an honor to serve the Central Academy community over the past year,” said Mrs. Morgan. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and excited to continue working alongside our talented staff, supportive families, and incredible students as we build on the strong foundation already in place.”
Mrs. Morgan and her husband, Tyler, welcomed their daughter, Merritt, in December 2025.
