360 News Sept 15 2025

We are off to a great start with our middle school learners! We have two middle school programs. One is for students in a hybrid learning model: 360 Academy of Careers and Innovation. They experience a blend of asynchronous virtual, synchronous (live) virtual, and in-person learning. This choice program is available to students in grades 6-8 in Pickens County Schools. The second program is a behavior intervention model for students placed in that program. It is primarily an asynchronous virtual program with teacher support when needed.

This month in 360 Academy we are celebrating a great day together from our September 4 day at the Pickens County Career and Technology Center. That day students focused on grade level content to help them be successful throughout the year. Mrs. Baldwin used a math game to review essential skills while challenging students to think forward to some more complex questions. Mrs. Double worked with students to think through reasons for population shifts, identifying geographical features, and focusing on essentials of SC History. Mrs. Barrow spent time with students reviewing a recent writing assignment and how they could make it better to improve their voice, use of cited evidence, and punctuation. Mr. Williams worked with science students on using the strategy of Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning to be able to critically approach questions and their responses. Students enjoyed time outside together and a cookie party for those finishing all of their internet safety lessons through Neptune Navigate!

Coming up this week is our time together in each of our attendance areas. Students will bring home their iReady results to share with their parents . Review those for ways to help your child reinforce learning and grow this year!

Thank you all for the support you provide at home as learning coaches for our students. Your partnership is essential in helping us grow these amazing learners!
