The South Carolina Association of Student Councils held its annual state conference on March 18 at Cane Bay High School, and the Easley High School Student Council returned home with a trove of honors:

  • Brooklyn Kelley, an EHS junior, was elected as the new SCASC President.
  • The council was designated as a Gold Honor Council, the highest level a student council can achieve.
  • The “Culler Run” was named as the Best Recognition Project for all 4A/5A high schools.
  • EHS Social Studies teacher Tracy Todd was named SCASC Advisor of the Year.
  • Trevor Weisner, an EHS senior, was inducted into the Terry McCoy Leadership Hall of Fame.
  • “Fright Night” placed 2nd in School Recreation Activities for 4A/5A High Schools.
  • The “Welcome to Easley” Freshmen Assembly placed 2nd in School Pride for 4A/5A High Schools.

As a result of Brooklyn Kelley’s election as SCASC President, she will lead the organization’s Cherry Grove Leadership Camp this summer, and next year's SCASC conference will be held at Easley High School. We're proud of our student leaders, who have risen to the top among their peers statewide!
